A strategy for development of Gazprom PJSC mineral resource base intends that the reserve replacement ratio should be not less than a unity and the amount of common reserves will be kept up as not less than 29 1012 m3. Last ten years, the stable positive growth of reserves in comparison with a level of gas production has been achieved. Nowadays, increase of Russian resource potential of raw hydrocarbons is related to exploration of the complex field structures in Eastern Siberia, the Arctic and in offshore zones of Kaspian and Okhotsk seas, and, as a consequence, to creation of new centers of gas production. Rising complexity of geological prospecting supposes severezation of requirements to completeness and validity of initial geological data.

Studies of bedded systems are traditionally payed special attention in the oil-gas industry. Core and fluids contain irreplaceable information about the properties and structure of a geological column, which enables to carry out trustworthy calculation of reserves and to substantiate trends in development of the mineral resource base. Finally, this information provides means to increase efficacy of recovery of hydrocarbons, which on the whole determines the economics of field development. Topicality of work with the primary geological data is proved by the changes in the federal legislation, namely in the Subsoil Law of Russia and other separate acts of law (see Federal Law no. 205-FZ dated 29.06.2015).

The articles included in this issue of the Vesti Gazovoy Nauki collection concern with the most complicated problems within research of hydrocarbon bedded systems. These problems could be solved only through the systematic approach to work with core materials and simulation of phase behavior of the bedded systems due to the several reasons. First of all, it is dislocation of geological prospecting both with the centers of hydrocarbon production into the remote territorial districts of Russia having the troublesome mining-and-geological and climatic parameters. Secondly, these fields are being developed in conditions of declining production, which make work with difficult-to-recover resources, helium-bearing gases, low-pressure gases etc.

Careful analysis of the scientific works concerned with bedded systems could answer a lot of methodological questions, prompt successful management solutions, consolidate scientists and process engineers etc. Papers in the suggested collected book will be interesting to researches, engineers and postgraduates engaged with exploration and development of hydrocarbon fields, creation of domestic simulators for phase equilibria, filtration and heat and mass transfer in conditions of a strata, a well, a separator and other field devices.
